The Writer's Devotional

01/04/2015 Week 1
Sunday/ WRITING PROMPT

If I could live anywhere in the world....

Today I am scrambling to get this post in before Sunday becomes Monday.  I started 12 hour shifts today, so I had to leave my house around 1815 & Have been at work since 1900.  Taking an opportunity to snatch a few minutes - in today's devotion I was introduced to Peter Mayle- author of "A year in Provence".  It is said he writes about this region in such a way that it becomes a character.  Assignment is to try a hand at writing about where I  live or where I might want to live.  I think I will use this as a time to start writing about a place I used to live & that I will be using as the setting in a series I'm writing.  First, I want to check out this book:).

  1. All off days must come to an end :( Illness and work can put a freeze on the writing goals. Today I'm continuing my forty day imaginative writing journey. The author challenged me to write ten minutes on a subject or idea I've thought about. Cluster around that subject and write again. I ended up writing about disciplining children "back in the day" and disciplining children today. Would the discipline I received be considered "child abuse" today? In some aspects it would be. I had to write about a time I had a black eye and couldn't go to school. Funny, how that writing experience brought back the pain I felt in that back room. Maybe I should consider an article on disciplining children then and disciplining children now. Keep writing my friend. I'm enjoying reading your devotions.

  2. I love your idea about discipline now & then. I do believe you are right- a parent would, could go to jail for some of the results of a "back hand slap" these days. There is such a thing as too much & too little- I think you should write it !!
